| Overal a good cam for those who are not terribly picky re IQ. I have shot maybe 500 images with this cam and I am generally pleased with its ease of use and great all around features. The menu is dead easy and straight fiorward, the lens extends exactly like a DSLR lens and fcuses fairly quickly in almost all situations. The color of the images is generally quite faithful to the scene. It is actually really real;lyhard to dislike this camera .The more you use it and play with the options the more addictive it becomes.
The EVF , contrary to other commenst I have heard if fione however it does not focus sharply enough .The screen at the back is great .
All in all this is a hard camera not to like and one I am truly struggling with sending it back as I originally intended. I am stll thinking that this cam can be used to produce some incredible shots if you work with its limitations ..Question is, is the 700 I paid worth it ..Hummm.. |
| Problems: There is a ton of plain old lousey resolution or sharpening smudging apparent in 100 X or greater crops of almost any image you shoot at 11 megs. It gets better if you downsize the images you shoot to 6 megs or lower. It is only in the smaller sized images that you can use the higher ISO without destroying your image re noise.
The dynamic range enhancer seems to only be a trick and not a true extension. Purple and green fringing is quite noticable particularly at the edges of wide angle shots
Having said that my Canon L series 17-40 lense that costs more than this cam, red fringes quite noticably so it happens to the best of lenses. It can be rectified in post processing |
